The short version

  • We collect the information you send us (like your name, phone number, and email) so we can quote, schedule, and complete your heating and cooling work.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We use Google Analytics to see how the website is used. It relies on cookies, and you can opt out.
  • You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your information at any time.

Desert Air Heating & Cooling, Inc ("Desert Air," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through desertair-hvac.com (the "Site") and when you call, text, or email us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Quote and contact requests. When you submit the quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the service you need, and whatever you tell us in your message.
  • Calls, texts, and emails. When you contact us directly we receive your phone number or email address and the content of your message.
  • Customer records. If you hire us, we keep the information needed to do the job and stand behind it, such as your service address, equipment details, and service history.

We do not take financing applications or payment card numbers through this Site. If you apply for financing, your application is handled by the financing provider under its own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics data. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Site. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the Site, your general location (city or region), your device and browser type, and interactions such as taps on our call, text, and email links, quote form submissions, and FAQ or article engagement. We do not send your name, phone number, email address, or message to Google Analytics.
  • Server and security logs. The Site is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested in order to deliver the Site and block malicious traffic.
  • Maps. Some pages display a map image served by Google Maps. When it loads, your browser sends Google standard request information such as your IP address and the page you are viewing.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your questions and prepare quotes.
  • To schedule, perform, and follow up on installation, repair, and maintenance work.
  • To communicate with you about appointments, estimates, invoices, and warranties.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
  • To protect the Site against spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • To meet our legal, tax, licensing, and insurance obligations.

3. Text messages

If you text us or give us your mobile number, we may call or text you back about your request, quote, appointment, or service. Message frequency varies with your request. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP or by telling us you no longer want to receive texts, and you can reply HELP or call (760) 385-5629 for assistance.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site and our business, and that may only use the information to provide services to us: Cloudflare (website hosting and security), Twilio SendGrid (delivery of quote form submissions to our office email), and Google (analytics and maps).
  • Legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when needed to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If the business is sold or merged, customer information may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to honor this policy.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

5. Cookies, analytics, and Do Not Track

The Site itself does not set advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies that help us tell visits apart and measure how the Site is used, and Google may collect information about your visits to this and other websites over time through those tools. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your choices:

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, the Site does not currently change its behavior in response to DNT signals.

6. How long we keep information

Quote form submissions are delivered to our office email inbox. The Site does not store them in a database. We keep inquiries and customer records for as long as needed to respond to you, complete and warranty our work, and meet our legal, tax, and licensing obligations, and then delete them or remove the details that identify you. Analytics data is retained by Google according to the retention settings on our account.

7. How we protect information

The Site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe your information is at risk, please contact us right away.

8. Your choices and California privacy rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep certain records where the law requires it, such as records of completed work.

California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code section 1798.83) allows California residents to ask whether a business has disclosed their personal information to third parties for those parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults who own, rent, or manage property. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other sites

The Site links to our profiles on Google, Facebook, and Yelp, and to other third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
